Sutter County Dog Leash Laws
Dogs are part of our society, which means that we tend to bring them out and about with us as we go about our routines. It’s extremely common to spend time in Sutter County and see people with their dogs, whether they are running errands, socializing or providing their dogs with their needed daily exercise.
There are laws in place in Sutter County pertaining to dogs, and some revolve around leashes and running at large. Below you’ll see the two incorporated communities in Sutter County. Sutter County Dogs Running at Large Law

Sutter County Dogs Running at Large Law Text:
Chapter 800, Section 800-210 – STRAY DOGS—RUNNING AT LARGE UNLAWFUL
It shall be unlawful for any person owning, having interest in, harboring, or having charge, care, control, custody or possession of any dog, licensed or unlicensed, to allow, cause or permit such dog to be in or on any public road, highway, street, alley, square, park, school ground or other public place, or in or upon any lot, premises, or property of another without the permission of the property owner. Any dog found running at large in violation of the provisions of any law of the State of California or of the County of Sutter shall be deemed a stray dog, and for all purposes shall be immediately seized and impounded.

Chapter 6.04, § 6.04.520 Stray dogs—Running at large unlawful.
It is unlawful for any person owning, having interest in, harboring, or having charge, care, control, custody or possession of any dog, licensed, or unlicensed, to allow, cause or permit such dog to be in or on any public road, highway, street, alley, square, park, school ground or other public place, or in or upon any lot, premises, or property of another without the permission of the property owner. Any dog found running at large in violation of the provisions of any law of the State of California or of the City of Live Oak shall be deemed a stray dog, and for all purposes shall be immediately seized and impounded.

Article 3, Sec. 4-12.310. – Stray dogs—Running at large unlawful.
It shall be unlawful for any person owning, having interest in, harboring, or having charge, care, control, custody or possession of any dog, licensed or unlicensed, to allow, cause or permit such dog to be in or on any public road, highway, street, alley, square, park, school ground or other public place, or in or upon any lot, premises, or property of another without the permission of the property owner. Any dog found running at large in violation of the provisions of any law of the State of California or of the City of Yuba City shall be deemed a stray dog, and for all purposes shall be immediately seized and impounded.
